Chankanaab National Marine Park in Cozumel is the perfect setting for
a memorable dolphin experience. The Dolphin Connection program is designed to
create a fun and personal connection with one of the ocean's most fascinating
animals in a safe and respectful environment.
Your experience begins with a
15-minute educational session led by a professional instructor, where you'll
learn about dolphin anatomy, habits, behaviors, and their senses, including
smell, taste, vision, and hearing. From there, you'll enter the water and begin
your interaction.
While on a submerged platform, you'll
have the opportunity to interact with one dolphin through a variety of close-up
behaviors. These may include a dolphin welcome, kiss, fin shake, hand target,
and observation of features such as the blowhole, fins, and teeth. You'll also
participate in sensory-based activities such as Dolphin Sight, Dolphin Embrace,
and Heart to Heart. These interactions take place in small groups to ensure a more personal experience.
Following the platform portion, the
experience continues with in-water interaction time. During this portion,
guests will enjoy group connection time with a mask as well as individual free
connection time without a mask. The dolphin may swim by, splash, and respond to
sounds, creating a playful and engaging experience.
The experience lasts approximately 55
minutes, with about 40 minutes of in-water time. Group size is limited to 8
guests to allow for more individualized interaction.
A 10-minute manatee meet and greet is
also included, giving you the chance to meet and learn about these gentle
animals up close. Guests will also enjoy a sea lion presentation as part of the
experience.
Professional photographers will be
present to capture the highlights of your experience. Photos and videos will be
available for purchase after the activity.
Please Note: The program will include an educational briefing on
dolphin anatomy and habits, including their senses such as smell, taste,
vision, and hearing, along with activities such as Dolphin Embrace (touch),
Dolphin Sight (vision), Heart to Heart, and Ocean Echo (hearing). During the
experience, guests will enjoy both platform and in-water interactions,
including group connection time with a mask and individual free connection time
without a mask, as the dolphin swims by, splashes, and responds to different
sounds. The program lasts approximately 55 minutes, with about 40 minutes in
the water, with a maximum of 8 guests per platform and one dolphin. Admission
to Chankanaab National Marine Park is included, along
with a 10-minute manatee meet and greet, a sea lion presentation, pool access,
food, and beverages , and open bar available.
The park is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00
PM local time, and guests may arrive at any time. Your tour ticket includes
admission to Chankanaab National Marine Park. Guests
can arrive at any time and make use of the park facilities, which include a
beach, swimming pool, and designated snorkel area.
Restrooms and showers are available. Beach chairs, lockers, and snorkel gear
can be rented on site.

dolphin tour. For any guests in your party who will not be participating in the
dolphin activity, including children under 8 who are not eligible to take part,
